Mark Malone grew up in Omaha, NE and went to Creighton University and the University of Nebraska. Mark is a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, and he helps families/businesses with investments and financial planning. He is also the manager of the Des Moines office. Mark and his family moved to Waukee in 2011 and he has been married to my wife Jessica since 2008 and we have a six year old Daughter Emily and a 9 year old son Max.
Mark played soccer and football growing up, and has continued to play competitive soccer year-round for the last 20+ years. In his own words, Mark “wasn’t good enough to play soccer at Creighton (That’s like playing football at Notre Dame).” He currently plays in the central Iowa coed league, and he says they are always looking for more players, especially more females.
Over the last few years Mark got into Olympic lifting. He really enjoyed strength training, and how technique was so important. But after his gym shut down it was hard to find the motivation to do it alone.
Mark joined Krave with his friend Bret as an accountability partner. They don’t always make it to the gym together, but they always know whether we went or not. Mark says that he “knew Krave was the right place when Dan texted me and busted my chops for missing one of my first classes.” At first Krave was a huge change in pace from the workouts he was used to. Mark said, “I felt like I was dying 3 hours a week. I’m starting to get more accustomed and I think diet has a big part to do with it. I have enrolled in the Krave nutrition coaching which has me dialed in on my macros, which has noticeably improved my performance in the gym.”
Mark now looks forward to the gym to see what progress he will keeps making week after week.
When I asked Mark what he recommends about Krave Gym Waukee, he had this to say: “I recommend Krave because of their dynamic programming, switching up the seasons is a great change of pace. Constantly keeping people engaged and excited about staying healthy. The coaches know you, and want you to succeed. The nutrition coaching has me even more focused on my overall health. They are super reasonable on cost, and provide a huge benefit. Additionally, their constant commitment to local charities says a lot about the overall culture. I’m proud to be a part of the Krave gym family.”
Welcome to the T.E.A.M, Mark! We love having you and we are so excited to see your growth and progression as an athlete!!
