This week’s foodie is favorite beer! We know, not really a
food, but still fun. The beers were: Miller Lite, Corona, Bud Light, Summer
Shandy, Bottled Piss Busch Light, Coors Light, Heineken, and Shiner
Cheer.
First things first, I’m going to stop all of you Microbrew-Hipsters before you even start. Yes, Gulliver, we know that these beers don’t compare to the milk chocolate double stout IPA blend with a citrus zing you tried that one time in Dearborn County, Indiana when you were going on your “obscure counties across America” vacation 2 summers ago.
However, since the vast majority of people will have never tried most obscure local beers from breweries, we went with mass appeal and beers that most people have tasted.
The first round was Summer Shandy vs Bud Light, Corona vs Coors Light, Heineken vs Miller Lite, and Busch Light vs Shiner Cheer.
Summer Shandy crushed Bud Light, Corona edged out Coors Light, Miller Lite beats Heineken and Busch Light beats Shiner Cheer.
I was unsurprised by the first two votes, but Miller Lite beating Heineken surprised me a bit. The real travesty was Busch Light beating Shiner Cheer. I was hoping that the Texas folks on my poll would be able to push it through to the next round. Unfortunately, their votes were only good enough for a 50/50 split while the Krave Gym poll (a bunch of Iowa folks) had a heavy Busch Light leaning and pushed it past Shiner. Please forgive the Iowans, most of them have only tried Busch Light so they don’t know what they’re missing.
Now for round two we have Summer Shandy vs Miller Lite and Corona vs Busch Light. Summer Shandy decimated Miller Lite. For some insight into how I check these votes; I wake up and check Krave’s percentage first, when I saw that Busch Light was winning by 5% my heart sunk. I was going to hate moving that “beer” into the championship round. Luckily, when I checked the Gym Closets’s poll and my own, better taste buds prevailed. Corona won in a 23-point landslide combined.
This brings us to our championship round! Summer Shandy vs Corona. It seems that people voting are all in a very summer-mood. I am perfectly fine with either of these beers, we’ll see who wins tonight on the podcast!
The results are in and it was very not close at all.
Summer Shandy won by more than 30 votes with the combined polls. Our suspicion
that folks had summer on their mind seems to have been correct.
